Real shame. Collosium II, Thin Lizzy, Skid Row and solo efforts. One of the great guitarists. A life alongside Phil Linnott can't have helped and had already had one lucky escape with the car crash that badly scarred his face.

    What was the cause?

Just text DD and told her that Gary Moore had died.
Her reply was shame it wasn't Gary Glitter

    I agree totally.

    He'll be missed by millions

Agreed. He could really hack-it. Although he could do the blisteringly fast - and tasteless - stuff, he was more a disciple of the 'less-is-more' school. Pete Green'ish on a good day.

Unlike Green, it was a pity his singing couldn't match-up to his playing. But then few great white guitar bluesers are any good in that department.

Not many can live up to Peter Green though anyway imho. 'Blues for Greeny' is a good album of GM's to have.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX4zt9zk820 sad news and a sad way to go.

  • An absolute legend. My mate at school was an avid fan of his and could play a lot of his stuff and really got me into him. A sad loss to the world of rock/blues.

I was only discussing Gary with some friends sat night, after watching the recent tv Thin Lizzy documentary. Many of my rock heros are dying one by one.... Recently Ronnie James Dio passed, now Gary Moore.... Suppose it's because I'm getting old, but still a shock.
