Centaur ultrashift problem

Hi

I appear to have broken my left hand Centaur shifter. I picked my bike up whilst holding the brake lever down, and heard a nasty click. The brake lever now fails to return after braking. Not sure what the problem is - I don't really know about the internal mechanisms. Anybody have an idea what might have happened and whether it can be fixed?

Also, any shops in London area who might be able to help?

As far as I know, the only thing which returns the lever after barking is the spring in the brake pulling on the cable. If it's not returning after braking, it's usually that your cable's so gunked up that the spring tension is getting lost.

Cheers, I might see what its like without the cable in place - should confirm whether that is the problem. I'm probably due new cables anyway.
