I stopped on the West Highland Way for a wee camp on a 2 dayer....pictures aren't very inspirational and...I hated it.
However, will be going on a 2 dayer in the Nevis Range in March and the Coast to Coast in May. Just get out and do it.0 -
We slept in the bus as the back 5 fold flat, drove up to Scotland and rode Glenshee, The Lecht, Glencoe and Fort Bill...
Utterly wicked week of riding
Want to ride the entire Pennine way with a bivi bag, portable stove and some tins of beans. might do that this summer0 -
Actually... it's not a very inspirational pic really is it :? It's the only thing I have online relevant!0

I did this once in June 2005, went from Perth via back roads up over Glen Almond into Loch Tay. set off on the Friday after work ended up in Kenmore at half ten, ba**ard midge hell, nowhere to camp ended up pitching the tent on the beach, no food either. As for the tent- a Proaction "sydney" from argos- single skin it was like a sauna inside and couldn't leave it open because of the midges. At first light I upped and left the shi**y tent on the beach and headed back to Aberfeldy then home. 84 miles in 18 hrs, and only fuelled on dry rolls and crisps I got once the newsagents in Feldy opened...
It sounds idyllic but in reality it's gash.....
Oh, and the Blackburn post mounted rack kept swinging into the wheels no matter how tight I tried to get it, and that was only with tiny Karrimor Kalahari panniers.
Credit Card and B&B. no other way is worth it!0 -
There was a thread here a few days ago about a guy who toured Australia with his bike, he had some great stories and photos.0
