Bike Insurance

I've had bike insurance before (which turned out to be a similar price to my car insurance!) but this was for a production off the shelf model. Easy to identify with serial numbers and specs well known.
I've now sold this and am building up something new from scratch using bits I've bought previously, quality second hand stuff and new bits from retailers.
Question is, How do I get this insured with it not being stock? Where's the best place to get a valuation?
What are other peoples experiences??
Thanks,

Marks and Spencer house and contents.Any bike up to 4.5K.
Bike specific is expensive with too many "get out clauses"0 -
I got my bike insured with the AA on my house insurance. Cost the same (£80) for the year as my bike only insurance (with Evans) had cost the year before. This is for all my stuff and my bike as a listed item - just had to provide a description and valuation so it doesnt matter if it is "stock" or not. Mine bike isnt.My Website - Trail Centre info for the UK: MTB Trail Time0
