No broadband for over a month and will have to use my mobile as a dongle.
So bloody third world.

Wait for next door to go out, break in and get their broadband key, simple
  • April?
No rush on BT's part eh?
Always handy to have a Vodafone PAYG dongle for essential backup browsing (banking, bike news, porn)

I know the feeling, I am also moving soon and will be leaving my beloved 10mb Virgin cable bb and have to move to a pee poor BT line with around a max of 1.5mb, due to it being fooking miles from the BT exchange, I'll be lucky if i can actually connect to the web..

i couldnt imagine life without the interweb, you'd think suppliers could get you the interweb at the drop of a hat

LMFAO. BackTrack is what I use to "probe and crack" WEP encrypted networks combined with a bespoke util called "Walkthru" to establish a peer connection.. oops.. forget I said that!

BTFON works well and as a BT broadband customer I get it free
No complaints with BT on this side, 10MB with a real world throughput of circa 6MB

    Cooldad where you moving to?

    You won't be missed.

If you were a BT subscriber, I'm sure you'd find them more than willing to install a line within a few days.
Had this problem at work, when we used another telephone network, BT just didn;t want to know, and gave us a month or two on the waiting list for the simplest of tasks.
Now we're back on BT, they sort almost everything out the same day.

Rightfully so I reckon, why should they have to do the heavy lifting for other networks?

Bloody inconsiderate new neighbours - half a dozen networks in range and all encrypted. Obviously no hippies.

@Ray moved to Bracknell, even more of a shithole than Woking but right next to Swinley so convenient for a bit of a ride.
Wish I knew what you are talking about, will do a bit of googling but Even needed the youngster to work out how to make my phone talk to my computer - had to change some code but seems to be working ok. Better than my first modem anyway - think it was 5b/s, thing with big rubber doughnuts you stuck the phone into.
Fortunately it's a company mobile, so all the data is free. I love free stuff.

@sandyhill makes me positively homesick. not. Got spoiled in NZ though - 5 minutes to connect a line and you can pick your own number.

    @Yeehaa love you too.

I'm moving to Basingstoke so Swinley will also be my riding spot once again
We'll stay in touch via FB and hook up at Swinley for a ride with a few other "Saffers" that I know

@Ray keep an eye on London Calling in rides as well. We regularly ride either Swinley or SH
