Whinlatter - South Loop Altura Trail - Muvi Video
Was lucky enough to have some spare time this week whilst I was up in the Lakes on business and went around the Quercus (blue) trail and then the South Loop of the Altura Trail.
This was the first proper trip out with the Muvi DV Cam (Xmas pressie from Mrs Proutster) - probably very samey when you've seen lots of MTB videos but it reminds me what fun it was and the background scenery at the top is stunning

Would probably rate this as No. 1 of the 3 trail centres that I've been to so far:
1. Whinlatter
2. Cwmcarn
3. Llandegla
Will have to go again soon and try the North Loop (which is tougher I believe).

cool video, did you not go right to the top , there is a big rock garden right up there. Brings back memories, except we couldnt see skiddaw mountain on the day we went. We also started off with the blue trail and then the south loop. Really nice set up with the cafe ( which is surpisingly cheap) and the bike wash and bike shop. Rate this place as number 1 too0

Thanks.
Yes, went right to the top but the vid wasn't as interesting up there - especially on one of the big rock step-downs that I walked down
I seemed to get in a flow after crossing the fire-road where the vid started (+ also the vid from the tp was 10+mins and would've been a bit boring!!).
I really enjoyed the blue as well, not difficult and a real good warm-up. Some of the small jumps at the end of the blue were great fun, will post the vid of them when I edit it down (+ think of a soundtrack for it).0
