Bolts for Avid Elixir 5 Caliper?

Hi All

I have just bought myself a blinging red North Shore Billet brake adaptor for my 185mm front brake. The problem is it is different from the Avid one in that I have to bolt the adaptor to the fork and then the caliper to the adaptor (un-like the Avid on where I have extra long bolts that goes through the adaptor straight into the fork).

The thing is I have no bolts for it as my current ones are too long. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what size the standard Avid ones are?

I have found a kit on CRC but it doesn't give a size for the bolts and I don't want to end up buying the long bolts. I have also found a kit on Ti Bolts that contains 2 x M6x20mm and 2 x MRx25mm. Would these be OK?

Cheers

or cut the current ones down,

or take the current ones to Halfords/B@Q or any bolt shop.

how long depends on which place you are putting them.

but the same length as the ones on the rear brake will be fine.

  • Cheers Nick. Some interesting stuff on threads there. I always get a bit confused by all the different sizes.

I'll have a look at the bolts on the back and find some the same. Is it best to get some with the threadlock stuff on them or just apply some myself?
