Looking for a bargain chaps.
Has anyone stumbled across any properly cheap winter hack type bikes, with Campag, I'm assuming it'll be Veloce, drive train?

Try Ribble?
Just had a look and you can build up one of their 'hack' frames with mirage/xenon for a smidge over £500."That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college! " - Homer0 -
Second hand will be cheaper.0

Almost certainly Ribble. Their winter frames are pretty unexciting though - bog standard aluminium with ugly welds.0

Have a look at this from Decathlon http://www.btwincycle.com/EN/sport-3-54-57-69013214/
Stock is low in the UK due to a newer model coming out (not sure of the specs yet).
If you can find one in your size then you could be on to a winner.Ignore the online stock checker call your local store.
I ran one of these frames for 2 years and to be honest I didn't notice much difference when I swapped to my Kineses Kic 2.0 -

Phil, don't apologise, how did you know my cycling wife is just about less than 5 foot tall?.
So in the market for 44cm bikes.
Although she can't ever have a Bianchi until I've upgraded to a Time RXR VIP.
So actually do one!0 -
ha-ha, do you think she'll notice the difference in price  ('cause deep down you know you won't tell her the truth )0

She knows all about it, it even comes up when Wifey wants something slightly unobtainable, knowing damn well we'd never be able spend that on a bike, but hoping I'd push the boat out for her thing.0
