Cracked carbon fibre frame

I've had my carbon fibre road bike for 18 months when i found a crack on the top tube.
Returned it to the internet supplier for inspection and they informed me that it must have been caused by impacted and so it wasn't covered by the warranty.
Being the only person to have ridden the bike, i know it has not been involved in an accident.
So i would welcome any advice and dose anyone know where i could get the bike scanned to show how the crack happened. :x

I had a carbon road bike retunred to me a few weeks ago with a cracked top tube.It ended up it was a caused by the bars turning fully onto the top tube which caused it to fracture.
If you don't get anywhere with warranty there are a few companies which can repair it for a modest fee.
A scan will probably cost more than your frame is worth so not very cost effective and its nor guaranteed to prove the cause

Thanks for that but i need to get evidence, to prove to the supplier, its their problem.

Trying to prove a crack is a manufacturing fault is expensive and time consuming. Try and get their full report and study it before making decisions on expensive scans. The supplier can dig their heels in and you'll have to prove it was not your fault.

There's a guy on these forums who has gone through hell and high water trying to prove his frame cracked because of a manufacturing fault. He's had a big campaign to embarrass the American company. Please be patient reading it and the original posting was deleted as you'll see later on.

This is only worth it if your frame is worth a few grand.The cost of pursueing it will most likely outweigh the cost of the frame.
As your frame is over 6 months old it is up to you to prove its manufacturing fault which is difficult to do.
I feel your pain and hope your successful in your claim.

Dont bother just contact Mike Burrows and he will give you number of someone in Norwich who will repair it for £100. I cannot recall the number for the guy who repaired mine, if you seacrh on here you will find it in another post.
Here is my Pinarello Prince which was damaged in crash when the bars went through my Top Tube.

Here we go these are the people who did mine, very friendly and very very good, you will not see the repair on my frame as close as you will look.
They do stuff for Mike Birrows who is a famous framemaker/designer.

I like the way the guy airbrushed the bars tomatch the frame, and also air brushed all the loggos.
It is being touched up as the bars ruubed against another bike on my towbar mounter rack so I know now to cover the tubes with pip insulation even though they do not touch when stationaty the speed of car makes them move and touch.

Well its a shame for me I guess I prefer the shifting on the shimano compared to campag and saved myselfa stack of money, shame really
I do not like campag drive chain or shifters so why spend more money on something you dont like or thinks is not so good?
