Recommend me a new Frame ?

Ive had a road bike that a friend built up and sold to me very cheaply a few years ago.
its comprised of largely Specialized parts with a Shimano group set. the two things letting it down are an aging pair of wheels and the Carrera Virtuoso frame.
I am really getting into my cycling more this year and I am currently trying to source a reliable pair of wheels.
I am also going to be looking at sourcing another frame to replace the carerra one. having said that the carerra one is actually pretty light by modern budget road bike standards, however frame clearance is so slim getting a pair of crud road racers to fit was near impossible with them requiring some serious fettling.
Ideally I'd like to transfer my shimano components acoss (sq-taper bottom bracket etc)
so recommend me a frame if you wouldnt mind ? - useage for commuting (5 miles per day and weekend riding/touring)
hope not too much of a noob question...

If it's for commuting I would unfailingly get one with clearances for full length 'proper' mudguards, and the fixing points to attach the mudguards to.0
