New Headset

I'm upgrading my forks and the headset has seen better days so want to replace that as well. I've no idea what to buy and there seems to be lots of choice. The current headset is a 1 1/8" threadless that came with the bike (Specialized Rockhopper Disc 2008). Any advice appreciated. Oh, and I don't want to spend too much! Thanks.

I have a 2006 RH frame, the only thing left is the Crane Creek headset.

Sure it's seen better days but still functions perfectly.

Perhaps it just needs a clean, regrease and/or some new BBs.

Any normal 1 1/8" will do - not a zero stacker though.

Thanks for the advice - Would the FSA Pig Pro Headset that On One are selling for £14.99 fit? Does it come with a crown race, star nut etc?

It will fit but is intended for downhill use so is rather heavy.

I like these, mainly cause of the top cap 8), but it is also good for the money - cartridge bearings, pretty light, and only £18

Received mine today and it doesn't have a crown race?

I've not installed mine yet but it looks like all the bits are there - The lower cup and crown race were joined together and needed a little pull to separate them. Neither does mine, I assume it just runs on bottom bit of the cup, which clicks off if you pull it hard enough, and it has a flat bit.
