I have just taken delivery of a new Planet X superlight pro carbon to replace one that was written off in a crash, however the new one has an alloy seatpost and i would like to replace it with the carbon one from my first bike. I don't have any torque wrenches so would i need to get one? Also would i need any carbon assembly grease or anything similar?! It sounds like quite a simple job so i don't really want to take it into a shop.

Cheers all?!

  • I would use carbon paste and just err on the side of caution when tightening up. Too loose and you will notice.
