Help with seized suspension forks

Hi all
I was recommended this forum by a friend, I have bought my son a second hand GT Aggressor which is great but the front suspension is siezed solid, the forks are
RST Omni 191 c7, now I know from looking on the internet these are very cheap and not very cheerful!
Can these be stripped and made to work again, or is the best bet a new set of forks. If so can someone point me in the right direction of what I need, as I have no clue about most things with 2 wheels
thanks in advance
Simon

I had an old set of suntour forks a couple winters ago that seized due to the salt and general crap around, i used a good blast of WD40 on them to unstick them enough to get me through the winter then binned them and got a set of RS Toras for not very much money.
If i was u i would the same rather than tryin to strip down a cheap fork that may or may not even be designed to be stripped.0 -
The RST can be stripped down, I have a pair of Omni's stripped, undo the nut on the bottom of the leg, while its still on there but loose tap it up with a hammer to dislodge the taper then remove the nut and pull the upper from the lower.
Mine I was stripping for spares, as the stanchions were rusted almost to the point of being in 2 bits, the weather seal is hopeless and its possible your lowers are full of water and not allowing the upper to come down at all.
