can someone please give me a quick guide on cube bikes, im lookin at a few different ones and am wandering what models are better than others, i.e LTD team , pro , race etc, acid etc etc,
from what i can make out there is a pecking order in which they are ,, am i right, ??
and are certain models more xc or downhill or.......... im not looking for a big explanation taking lots of ur time just a basic order of maybe race is allways lighter than the team or whatever the case maybe, hope all tht makes sence and thanks for any help , im not set on cube but i think having a bike u love the look of is quite important and i really like some of the cubes , thanks again.
p.s im looking at hardtails for trail riding at afan and things like tht,

No offense, but could you rewrite that with better punctuation and no text talk, as I understood very little of it.
  • £ is the best way of ordering things up.

Hi Speedy, have you tried looking at their website?
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

hi, ive got a small amount of knowledge on the subject.

AMS is there cross country range
stereo & sting are more trail/all mountain oriented (probably better for afan) although i see they now the the AMS with a 150mm travel option which would probably be ideal.

my brother has got an AMS 100 comp and it is ok but he uses every mm of suspension when the trails get harsher! so i would recomend more than 100mm of travel (some may disagree and say his bike is setup incorrectly)

comp, pro, team & race. comp being entry level and race being high end.

    i hope this helps, james.

    Speedy,

I am currently close to buying a Ltd Race in Metal, Green & White; I just need to try an Orange Crush out at the Stif Cycles open day on the 12th.

I love the geometry, spec and look of the 2011 Race, and have been doing my research. From what I have learned:

Order of specs is Comp, Pro, Team, Race with Race being highest. Acid is part of a different frame series, slightly different geometry and lower specs. The Acid is the best in that series (think it is called Attention).

Fix your budget then go for the best you can afford; try the frames for geometry and then pick the spec you can buy. 's what I am doing. I am trying the Orange simply because I live in West Yorkshire and am drawn by the Brand equity and localist angle to it.

    Hope this helps,

    Clean.

thanks very much for the help guys, its the colours of the paintwork tht made me like them so much to start with clean the race is really nice, the 2009 team is my fave but think theyre all long gone, theyve got some really nice paint jobs but due to money i wont mind gettin the black anodised to save a bit, ive been searchin all night and think ive found what im after but would like some advice, money is a bit of an issue at the moment and ive found a 2010 black ltd team for £760, the advice im after is how it would ride as ive read the bikeradar review and its put me off a bit saying its more of a racer than a play bike, i like the 2011 team aswell so am wandering if they have the same feel or if the 2011 is more of a play bike than 2010 was. i think il be able to sit on a 2011 but doubt il be able to try a 2010, its hard work all this shopping, is crush a steel frame is it clean , i do get drawn to the 456 from time to time :?

1 more thing, do pro , team and race all share the same geometry, thanks for any help hopefully i sud sit on some next week so will be good to kno wats what before i hit the shops

same frame in 2010 and 2011, same frame for all LTD range bikes, so same geometry

but if you looked at the Cube website and read the info you would know that anyway
