For anyone interested, some LIDL's on Monday will have CREE torches in for £9.99, not branded, but still a reasonable deal! Come with low and high power settings.

I boought 2 Tesco CREE torches a couple of years ago for I think, 7.99 each. Within a matter of weeks the contacts inside both had gone, possibly due to the general road buzz and bumping they received. Bought a Fenix after that which has been fine. I'll never buy cheap torches for use on the bike again...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Matter of weeks is fine, take em back!
A Freind just got back from Shanghai, got an ultrafire CREE for £5.50 with batteries/charger and holster (just needs a bar mount), I say Friend, he didn't get me one.....they last just fine, so I won't be put off by the low price as it doesn't have to meen low quality.

Nope, still doesn't work. I don't think LIDL links ever work, it always puts you back to the "select a store" page...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -

Must be cookies on my PC then. At the select store page click continue without postcode then click on the car accessories link.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Link does work for some of us. No need to enter anything...0

A mate tested the link, no probs, I suspect its previous LIDL users that may have problems due to it already having a different store for you (Cookie).
Anyway, its under car accesories which my local store is 'doing' on Monday, 3-year warranty.

Comment as about you not bothering to look at all, a defective link (for some) doesn't change that!

Anyone know what batteries these take? They look quite small, so maybe 1 AA?
I'm still using my Tesco torches regularly and they still work perfectly. One of them's even survived falling off on tarmac at 30mph.0 -
No idea what batteries, AA or 18650 by the looks of it (2 off), comes with the first batteries!

not sure if these are the same as the 2xAA cree torches that lidl had in a few months ago (130 lumen). I've been running two all winter, very good, very bright and coped with wet weather. German....vendor of bicycle baskets & other stuff www.tynebicycle.co.uk

I think "demanded" rather than "requested" would be more accurate. Jeremy, if people are being sarky with you you might want to adjust the tone of your posts and reduce your use of CAPS LOCK...Rules are for fools.0 -

anyone know where i would get handlebar mounts or a helmet mount for this -assuming not too heavy for the latter?0
-
Lots of 'generic' torch mounts for bars on ebay, cost around £5 delivered.

I use one of these for my Fenix and have used them in the past on my MD80 clone camera. Even though it says 31.8mm bars it can be adjusted to suit smaller bars.

A couple of holes drilled/melted in the body and cable ties and maybe removing the screwed on bracket, depends on the light your attaching.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

It comes with 3x AAA withEnergizer wrapping. Got mine today and walked past them twice as the torches I looked at were bigger than I was expecting. First impressions are that it isn't as bright as my Fenix L2D but it isn't the cost of a Fenix either. The promised battery life seems promising, hopefully it will hold up to promises.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
Got two myself, as you say 3xAAA in a funny holder to make one 'cell' to insert, meant to be 150lumens so its not as bright as your Fenix, but for the cost I'm pretty happy.
