Ah, the title of the post was misleading lol.

That is a big budget. I'd certainly be looking at the OnOne carbon 456. For 800 is available in Titanium.
  • +1 for the on-one. Mmmmm.......
Am i strange in that i actually ENJOY going up hills? Yes, yes i am.

PS: Full - Sussers are for SOFTIES AND BIG GIRLS
  • another for the 456
  • Hi, I've just started a blog on building up my Cove HJ from scratch - I hope to provide info & ideas that I've found to be not so easy to find online as well as the basics of trying to do this at home.
Subscribe & follow the ride. Hope it entertains!

You've posted this 6 times now, often in threads unrelated to the original question.

    ADMIN.
  • Hello to the admin who posted the above reply to my message.

All I am trying to do is be helpful to people & apologise if you think otherwise; but this post mentions Cove & the OP talks about building a hardtail himself, so I see my post as pretty relevant?

My aim is to help people, which is what I would hope forums such as this are essentially for? I'm not spamming, i posted 6 posts in threads I have either posted in previously or where it seemed people might have an interest in what I am trying to do.

So sorry if you feel otherwise. but I think your comment above is a little unreasonable!

Put the link in your signature? We cannot allow people to post their websites in every thread they feel has some relation to the op, because if everyone did this the forum would become quickly clogged, and your rapid, multiple posting did appear to be spamming. Cove Stiffee was a recommended frame, and not even mentioned by the OP, never mind the HJ!

Or if you post to help, instead of just using the same block of text, why not take the time to be more specific to the questions, and answer in a more personal way? Your blog as it stands contains very little info! I am sure that will change though ;-)

...and a build blog is about as useful, functional and informative without pictures as chocolate fireguard
  • ..I will add the link to my personal info.

@blister pus: You're missing the point I'm trying to achieve & prob only seen the introduction as yet, there will be pix, but the point I'm trying to achieve with it is more along the lines of the way Bill Bryson covers travel; you can probably find specific build pix & "this goes there" static instruction in many many other places!

But often small things are missed, steel frame rust-proofing & like how the tool required for fitting centrelock rotors is supposedly the same as that used for fitting your cassette - but they don't all fit both, obviously I'll show pix of such differences etc :D

I like the enthusiasm but this is a bike forum with an average of age in the 20s and below. It's pix with words for a build or don't bother boring people with yet another blog nobody reads on the web. Sad, but true.

And if you do a search here there isn't anything about a steel frame build, or any other frame build, that hasn't been dealt with in triplicate hundreds of times before and that includes the use of J P Weigle frame saver / wax oil / WD40. Not that any of that should discourage you from enjoying doing the blog though.

Yes, I/we appreciate the enthusiasm, it was just the same thing copied and pasted didn't seem the right way forward!
  • Thanks supersonic, ironically having the link as a signature now gets it more publicity than before anyway, so good advice!

@blister pus: I think that comes across as very downbeat/negative; I wouldn't presume to know the average ages of the members or indeed, that if correct, it would mean that they can't enjoy a different angle on an oft repeated subject. You're still missing the point completely, but hey, if you don't like it, you don't have to read it - many others are - including the guys at Cove Bikes!

I think that's enough on the subject now, surely!
