O yes, but they're only available in the USA and this one was one of only fifty made for the inter bike show in Las Vegas.
160mm travel rear end 1.5" headtube strong enough for freeride light enough for AM.
I've bui;t it with pop lock dual so you can adjust compression damping as you ride for both ends with 1 lever.

    Thx

Interesting, me thinks Diamondback may have slipped Commencal a few pennies, take the decals off and I bet it would be mistaken for a Commie

I remember the days when diamond back were a premium brand making some very expensive bikes, this was back the late 80's early 90's though.

They still do! the scapegoat with Hammerscchmidt costs $5,300 to buy, then there's the Mission & Sortie. You just can't buy them in the UK

Glad you located the old one (Merida) - is it going to be returned to you as its rightful owner?

Big fan of the Diamondback. Understated.

Not always a fan of black framed bikes but yours looks sweeeeet :D
  • The Merida is impounded at Welshpool police but it will be the insurance company's property as they replaced it. Hopefully I can make an offer.

When the Diamondback arrived it was just a frame & I built it with all black parts from the Giant & it looked pretty industrial. I lightened it up and ordered decals from some company in Uruguay!?

I have a friend who is a graphic artist & he's working on a goat skull head tube badge & scapegoat logos & then it's done.

Also gonna fit some 740mm low rise bars & reverb seatpost then that's it.

The insurance company may not want the hassle of selling it so you may be able to get it back at a very reasonable cost. Hope whoever nicked it or knowingly tried selling it on gets what is coming to them

Anyway, yeah the blac k doesn't look as industrial as some do so i like what you've done. Looking forward to the final pics.

Nice Giant by the way, never rode one but always thought they looked pretty cool with the thin down tube
  • the guy who bought it has now admitted to handling stolen goods and named the thieves, They were arrested & charged yesterday.
Turns out they live very close to me so once I get they're details I will be posting photos of them and they're details up here in case anyone else would like a "chat" with them.
