I've been meaning to put this thread up since i bought the frame last year but never got round to it.
I had my eye on one of these HED frames for a while and I'm really happy with the looks of it, just hope it rides as well.
I'll be building it with the plan of having it on the road by the time end of March. Hopefully the weather will be a bit better by then.
First thing I bought for it was a nice box of bits from SRAM Only slight problem was it came with the white hoods so I've ordered a back set. The white ones are just a bit miami vice for me.
Wheels should also be here shortly.

Really like the looks of those HED frames. They were seeling them pretty cheap last year if I recall. Was just a bit concerned they were a few years old now and not as good carbon weave as the latest carbon frames available. I'm sure it will be a great bike once you've built it up though. Nice0

To be honest it did cross my mind too but HED have been tinkering with carbon fibre for so long I'm pretty happy taking the gamble on it. Besides I was sold on it, the minute I saw it. The plain large weave carbon looks aceCove Stiffee

I saw these on the HED UK site and with the 15% off deal they look like a steal - if I hadn't just bought a PX SL Pro I'd seriously consider building one of these up. Amazing looking frame, can't wait to see the finished version. More pics! What wheels did you go for?
PS White hoods are ace!0 -
Its been a busy week for the postie a lovely set of Pro carbon bars arrived a couple of days ago, followed by two of these
Can't stop sitting staring at them, they're awesome.
More pics coming at the weekend when I can do some decent ones.

Hurry and build !!!
Looks a beauty 8)0 -
You appear to have taken delivery of the bike the cycling gods clearly intended me to have. Please PM me for my address so you can rectify this mistake kthxbai.
PS If as you say you received two front wheels, you may keep the other one.0 -
Haha if it's ok with you I'll keep hold of your bits for now and one wheel is most definitely a rear rim.
Seat post ordered today, think I should be starting the build this week. Can't wait to get it out on the road although not too keen on the thought of salt and dirt on it :?Cove Stiffee

I also have one of these frames waiting to be built up, and have to say for the money they look to be a good deal.
Only thing I am not sure about is the correct type of integrated headset to use - the frame didn't come with much info in the box. Looks like you have fitted a headset in the photos - do you mind me asking what type you used?
I know its a 1 1/8 inch steerer tube, just not sure what the ACB angles are (36/45 or 45/45), and also what the headtube OD size is I should be going for.
Keep the pics coming as the build progresses - I'm interested to see how it comes together. I am currently trying to scrape together the pennies for a Force groupset and trying to get my bike on the road in March :-).0 -
To be honest the headset was already fitted when I bought the frame so I've no idea, Star Bikes in Hull (http://www.starbikes.net/) should be able to tell you.Cove Stiffee

Would you mind tellling us, did you buy the frameset from Star Bikes or HED themselves? Only reason I ask is that I bought one from HED direct and got no headset, in spite of what is suggested by the wording on their website.0 -
No problem, I got the frame from Star Bikes and I think they had it built up and on display as a complete bike before. Which may explain the headset.Cove Stiffee

Well after a constant stream of lovely carbon bits arriving I'm almost there. Not had chance to do any decent photos yet but thought I'd put a few quick pics up............
Plenty of carbon loveliness, just need to get it built up now.
