New bike ?

I know there are many topics along same line, but im asking for some advice. I currently have a Giant FCR that is 4 years old, was originally a flat bar fitness bike but i upgraded it with drops and tiagra shifters. Im looking to purchase new bike for the summer and to do London to Paris bike ride in sept. My budget will be £900 and ive been looking around the minefield of bikes at the price and also wary of buying offline too as reading comments on here. Looking forward to all advice.

    If you can stretch your budget by another £100 then you've got a good choice of £1000 carbon bikes like the Boardman Team Carbon, Ribble or Planet X.

    I went with the Boardman myself and have been very impressed with it so far.
