Sportive events in Kent

Hi guys this is my first post on here 8) 8)

I own a specialized allez 2010 which I bought on eBay last november with a few upgraded parts on it,lovely bike to ride

I'm looking a doing a few sportive rides,can anyone give me some links/advice on any races in Kent

I live in sittIngbourne Kent if there are any memebers around me

And you 'love' in Sittingbourne but where do you live?

Me and a couple of pals did the Sevenoaks sportive last year.

I can highly recommend the San Fairy Ann CC Sportive. Not a very hard sportive in terms of climbing, but if the wind blows down on the marsh, it can become a hell of a day.

We also give out personal engraved medals if you complete within the time standards based on your age.

For other sportives, the Sevenoaks one is very good as well, normally held in September.

There are about a dozen or so in or around Kent during the year, all of which are good rides, so sign up and get going!!

I did it the year before last, but was unable to do so last year as my daughter had only just been born, otherwise I'd have been there. Couple of challenging climbs, especially the last one just before the finish!!! Very well organised, well signed, and great refreshments. I'll be there again this September.[/url]

San Fairys do some good Sportives and reliability rides, also check out Downlands in Canterbury as they run several throughout the year. Where abouts in Sittingbourne are you? I'm local but ride on Sundays with the Ashford Wheelers down the road.

I had a quick look at the sevonoaks one my mate seems interested in that so will look into booking that up soon,

There are a few lads from Sittingbourne that ride with Medway Velo in Rainham, club meets sat mornings at 9am, Meet at Victory Cycles on the A2. Come along for a spin mate.

I think they are sold out now, but this is probably the toughest in Kent.

The Kent sportive out of Sevenoaks is very well run, have to wait until September though.

we ride 50-60 miles in winter, sometimes less and we usually have 2 different groups according to ability. There are also thurs night training nights at Iwade where there is a nice 3k route for screaming round at 7-30pm as well. club nights at the 442 club in Rainham on weds evening. google the club and you should find our website.

09:00hrs or 10:00hrs? Says 10 on the website.

I work most Saturday's but when I get one off ill try to come out but the training rides sounds good so will have a look at the club
