I'm thinking of going there on the train tommorow and, apart from cut gate, are there any other known routes, that are perghaps a bit shorter too, I only have about 5 hours

Train to Edale and do Jacobs? Or what about nipping over the Snake pass and riding Ladybower and coming back via Dr's Gate? (Not sommat I've done BTW...)
