Peter Yates RIP

I went into my local library today to ask them to get a copy of Peter Yates "Breaking Away" on video/DVD.

When I got home I looked at Wikipedia only to discover that he has just died (9th January 2011).

Apart from Breaking Away he also directed Summer Holiday, Bullitt and many more films.

My condolences go to his family and friends.

    Great film. Remind me of my youth (though just the times, not the location).

    I've had Breaking Away from Lovefilm for about a week, and I persuaded my 12 year old son to watch it with me the other day. We both really loved it, and even several days later I'm still thinking about it and why I liked so much.

    'Don't forget to punch the clock Shorty' has already become a family catchphrase...
