Hello
quick question my son has a mtb which he uses to travel to school ,just noticed the back tyre is bald as a coot ,the front one is fine ,so i was going to put the front on the back and buy a cheap one for the front ,can get a 1.75 wide tyre for a fiver ,the back one is a2.25 would this be fine 2 differant width tyres thanks neil

From a handling point of view put the wider of the two tyres on the front and the narrower on the back. Plus the front one which has still got some life in it won't be worn out too fast. Put the newer one on the back.
Idea being - the narrower tyre on the back will make for less drag and the front one which is a bit wider will give a touch more grip and handling for cornering/braking etc.Lapierre Spicy 516 XTR custom (2013) -http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=129323320 -
