BB7 piston not going back in

Hey, almost built up my new frame but final problem (hopefully...) is I've fitted new pads in my Avid BB7s, however they do not fit a rotor in-between the pads. It looks as though the piston on the left has not returned fully as I can see it protruding from the rest of the brake, as if I had the dials turned to do so. I've tried pushing it back in with a screwdriver with no success. Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot

Maybe you need to wind the opposite piston out and re align the caliper?
I take it this is with zero cable tension.0 -
It not attached to anything at the moment, so yea, no cable tension. I've unwound both pistons as far back as they go but I think the left one is still too far out.

Sounds like the winder mechanism may have bust. Not sure how to go about fixing it though.
Also is the lever arm springing back fully?0 -
download the exploded view from Srams webby. the return spring may have jumped."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
