Chorus or Record? Best place to buy?

Im going to be building a new bike and am wondering if its worth spending an extra £300.00 for 100 grams of weight saving. Yes I know I can have a sh*t, stop eating etc but are there any other differences that make Record worth having over Chorus? I already have Record 11s on my current bike and like it but would Chorus perform any differently? I have also used Centaur in the past and Record is a big improvement on that. Its to go on a Pegoretti and some say it would be sacrilege to use anything other than Record. I plan to use Neutron or Euros wheels, that's another decision.

Where's the best place to buy Campagnolo these days? Ive looked for 2010 but it seems to have mostly gone.
Pegoretti
Colnago
Cervelo
Campagnolo

I just bought 2010 Record from Merlin for £900. They also have 2010 Chorus for £675. This is on the 'accumulator' 10% off sale they have on now - it's been going a while, so I'd say you'd need to be quick. Other than Merlin, Planet X have pretty good prices as well, and also Jedi Sports in Germany.

The groupset from Merlin was all in sealed original Campag boxes, not OEM or any nasty little surprises.

    See this thread, BTW:

Buy Chorus front der., cassette and chain. That should drop price significantly without significant increase in weight.

No, £1000 less 10% so £900. I bought a 52/39 double. If you're after a compact, it was the same price when I was looking but I notice it's now £100 extra.
