Just booked flights from NI to go and see Enigma about buying an Extensor.

Has anybody got one and what build are they using?

I currently ride a Kona Haole with a Dedacciai Zero Replica TIG-Welded Cromoly Frame - how will this compare on the road?

Just cant wait but 12-14weeks leadtime on the build!!

test rode one when I bought my Ethos, and loved it to bits. Will be my next bike for sure...

I havent ridden your bike but this is lively, accelerates really well and begs you to ride it fast :D Its still the 'best' bike I've ridden simply for the grin I had when I got off it.

    Enjoy!

I am lucky enough to live nearby and am having them build me a bespoke tourer. They are really nice people who know their stuff and are extremely helpful - their customer service and knowledge is outstanding. Can't speak highly enough of them. You'll have a great trip - and end up with a helluva nice bike.

I haven't got one, but I rode the bike in that image last year. I posted then about how beautiful it is - a stunning bike. You will not be disappointed.

I rode that bike too, and it blew my mind, fantastic ride quality.

It will be mine, oh yes it will be mine ...... but with a much better paint scheme!

That depends purely if you like the feel and ride of a steel frame or a ti one. Decision which is a personal thing.

ride an Elite as well then as its a different ride again, although being steel obviously. You'll know which you prefer when you get there for sure.

I talk a bit to the guy in my local DIY store. He has an Extensor. He gets this special glint in his eye when he talks about it. You know it's good.

Collecting my Ti baby tomorrow morning - even disregarding a quick ride to make sure everything's set up right, i couldn't entertain simply having her entrusted to a carrier

Bet I can't get to sleep now

great stuff - look forward to seeing the pics.

My frame will hopefully arrive today, sounds like the same colour in Flamboyant Red with matched forks.

Then its time to decide the final build, and other than all SL-K finishing kit I'm not yet sure on the drivetrain yet.

Very warm and friendly service - amazed that the premises was so small but loved the bike. They didn't have any test extensor's when i was there but one of the guys let me ride his - i could have ridden on upto Wales and got the ferry home it was that comfortable.

I have gone with the enigma finishing kit as just couldnt afford anymore. Budget was really stretched even though i got a great deal.

The deals on the SL-K kit at the moment would be so tempting if i had it!!!

This rather lovely Echo (sorry about the rather crap photo, taken as passing Buck House on my way home) Pretty much 'standard' spec with 2011 Record gruppo and Zonda wheels, with Columbus Tusk rather than the recommended Muscle forks

    echo-1.jpg

Too early to start waxing lyrical as I've only done around 30 miles, but the ride compared to my Colnago is just unbelievably smooth. I went for the 53/39 with 12/27 as I hardly ever use the small ring on my 50/34 on my usual rides, and if you're paying that money you may as well use both rings

Slight issue when collecting from Enigma due to lack of communication, but I always say everybody makes mistakes - it's what you do to rectify them that counts, and Jim was absolutely superb in this respect today :D

    Very nice! :)

Is that the Ferrari red? What components did you go for?

And, most importantly, how does it ride?

what a beauty - looks the exact same colour as mine, although I dont have polished rear triangle :D

I didnt go SL-K in the end and eventually lumped for SRAM Red and Force for the drivetrain, with Ritchey WCS post, stem and bars.

Frame rides beautifully with a great combination of responsiveness and comfort.

Quick pic of it the day it was built up 8)
