    But ''cake bad?'' How do those two words go together?
    What sort of twisted, sick person goes onto a cake related thread in the Cake Stop forum and actually clicks the 'cake bad' option? FFS, have some respect!

    As cake stops go The Bog visitor centre below the Stiperstones in rural Shropshire is a good one. Homemade cakes served by volunteers in an old village school. And that's after the quiet roads in excellent scenery.

    And here's a photo of some CAKE just to wind up the wierdos.

    Thanks for the heads-up on Barton-under-Needwood. Perhaps this needs to be a regionalised forum. You might not know the areas but I will add anyway,

    The Spiders Web, Cosford, Albrighton, Shropshire (just off A41);
    Mere Park Garden Centre, Newport, Shropshire (just off A518);
    The Ramblers Retreat, Oakamoor, Staffordshire (near Cheadle).

    I've passed through Barton-under-Needwood several times and hadn't spotted that cafe. I'll keep an eye out the next time I'm out that way on my own. When I'm out with club mates we are usually heading to The Honey Pot Tea Rooms at The Beehive Farm in Rosliston. Now that is the place for coffee and walnut cake.

    Check out my cafe map:-

    The Belgian Hot chocolate is TO DIE FOR, or at least ride 50 miles for. ;)

    The rest of the guys I go with and visit the Tea Rooms love the cakes and scones but I am weight watching so only allow myself of one treat and I reserve that for the Hot choc they do. :D
  • Would love you to send us pics of your favourite cakestops, with the reasons they're so great and their best cake for the mag.

    Cafe Ariete in Moffat.

    Great coffee. Good selection of cake. Top filled rolls, I had bacon, really nice, 3 rashers. My mate had the haggis in a roll. Try it, it works really well.
