    I hate when the news uses a single piece of anecdotal evidence to try and open debate about something widespread like funding cuts.

    ok so 6 coppers stopped a guy on a bike because they thought it was suspicious at that time of day to see someone riding a bike like that. how many other people had they checked that night, did they catch any thieves/recover any stolen bikes? what volume of bikes go through that area at that time? if it's high does it require 6 policemen to actively police that many bikes?

    this article smacks of a journalist who's mate got stopped and was mildly outraged at having his character brought into question so she uses it as an excuse to mention the word 'cuts' in the paper again and to beat the police with a little.
