Looking for something different and more fun to do on Valentines day, how about this for an idea.

Instead of a dull evening in a quiet slow restaurant why not insist on taking your other half to the "Love your Bike" evening at the Farnham Maltings.

The evening will start with drinks and a meal, if you choose to really push the boat out, and a few competitions to win some cool winter gear. After this there will be a showing of "Life Cycles" movie. Life Cycles tells the spectacular story of the bike, from its creation to its demise. It is visually stunning and one of the best cycling releated movies out there, and yes it will appeal to non-cyclist too simply because of the stunning visuals.

The Farnham Maltings can be found at GU9 7QR and is just outside Guilford in Surrey and the evening starts at 6.30pm.

Make a pact with the missus that you skip a day and do it on 15th. You can actually get a table somewhere and it's cheaper as I'm tight.

But I keep the as I'm tight thing quiet, as she already knows.

now if only this had been posted in the hub, none of this unpleasantness about chunkers' wife would have happened.
  • Who said anything about it being unpleasant?

Wedding Anniversary (27th) is on the 11th of Feb, so we tend go out for dinners on that night. Although I refuse to pay 10X the going price for flowers.
  • No, she's lovely on the eye.

I have to beat Andy to this...

Only an issue if you're insecure enough to require another person to validate your existence.

I always make sure I am single around Valentine's day nowadays, just to make sure nobody expects anything of me.

I'd rather a serious hardcore fu**ing session. Get your priorities right.

I have offered to take a friend out, so far she's said yes but I can guarantee she'll cancel at the last minute with some excuse.
