Anyone done them? (http://www.hundredpushups.com and http://www.twohundredsitups.com)

I've just done the exhaustion tests for them, managing a pitiful 17 push ups and 55 sit ups. At the moment, I definitely have a roadie physique, I'm trying to add a little lean muscle to help with muscling the MTB around (if I can drop the little bit of excess fat I still have so that my weight doesn't increase, that'd be nice too).

a mate of mine used to challenge me to do 60 press ups in 60 seconds

he could do it easily but he only weighed about 10 stone  i could do 30 in 30 seconds but then i'd just die

i use those push up stands and they burn like fuck doing 50/75 with them and it's enough.

for sit ups i collapse the weight bench and use the ankle / knee foam rollers to do inverted sit ups with a 6.5kg weight - you can do a million variations on a theme doing that and you certainly don't need to do more than 50.

My brother is freak, can do 1000s. On his fingertips too, and even with someone SAT on his back!

I generally do my press ups on my fingertips. My wrists are too buggered to support weight with my hands bent back, so I have to.

I seem to find these quite easy and as I'm too tight to waste money on a gym I do these (plus a bit of weights) in my living room 2-3 of times a week to keep the top half of me in some sort of shape.

I know someone who lives in Cornwall (he's not really Cornish) who can do them all on his knob. He also does all the sit ups on an extremely steep incline that leads up to his rented house.

Not always do able as you may need equipment, but chins and dips are the best way to increase your core strength.

Knuckles push-ups are a killer but great conditioning!....Try 20 wide "flat" palm, 20 close "flat" palm, then 20 on dumb-bells (knuckles facing forwards).....Groooolin'!! No rest period.

    Sit-ups suck! Plank for 2 mins...Repeat...rest, repeat...Shower, eat, sleep.

I can manage around 50 pushups, around a hundred if I give myself a few seconds breathing time after the first 50.
dunno about situps, roughly around 50-60, last time I think.
I can also do about 15 one armed pushups.

Yeah, not got the equipment here, but when I go back to my parents' for a couple of months from April, I'll be able to do them then. Need to do just floor work type stuff for now.

If you get creative with what you've got in the house you can sometimes do chins and dips - of a sort - without the needing the equipment. I do a sort of dips (when 'er indoors isn't looking) by pushing up off an armchair and keeping my legs tucked up. Chins can be a bit trickier though unless you have somehwhere to hang off around the stairs, if you get my drift.

I've missed him as well, but with each shot my aim is slowly improving.

try press up handles, foam grips that sit on the floor and you grip them side on. i suffer especially with my left wrist as I tore the ligaments in it years ago playing football. but I find it so much more comfortable using them, and they aint dear either

I hate pushups because I don't like looking at the ground, plus I'm quite (very) crap at them. I'll get onto it tonight and see how many I can manage.
  • Just cracked out 37. Not my best which was in the 50s. Mind you I was maxing out every second or third day.

Going to feel this for a few days!
