Came up there a bit faster than I did when I rode it last year!
It’s the most beautiful sport in the world but it’s governed by ***ts who have turned it into a crock of ****.

They flew up that - proof if any that the rider is more important than the bike. Steel sucks huh?

just before 4 minutes is the inspiration behind Armstrong's infamous cyclo cross antics of 2003!

Does anyone know the route they took?

Tried working it out using google maps and the Stage Profile from the video. but no joy.
  • "The Devil's Hill....... that's not normal." :D
  • Thanks for posting this, I've looked for this before without success. I was at uni nearby at the time - the Milk Race did this route on two of the years I was there, but I had exams on both occasions and couldn't go, so frustrating.

The hilly part of the route is what's known as the Mountain Road, between Abergwesyn and Tregaron.

Why don't they send the TOB over these climbs these days?
The only thing hard about last years Welsh stage was the weather and a steep ramp at the back end.
I'd love to see them do this stuff again, would make better TV.

I have done the staircase several times and it's a bugger especially if you get loads of wind at you (which is quite often) along the valley approach road. Looks like these boys had a perfect day though and for the spectators.

Hard work last year in the Devil Ride with my 54/28 gearing, but that is normal in Shropshire/Wales

Completely agree with you, it would be great to watch.
