Hybrid - Cross Country !

I would like to use my Hybrid Specialised Cross Roads to go over some cross country trails, has anyone converted theirs to do this.I have some cantilevers I can use so :? it seems to me that all I need to do is getting some wheels 700c which will cope with going over the rough stuff.
All advice would be welcomed.

    will 700c wheels fit your bike?

    Garry yes they will.Does that mean ybrid wheels are a different size then. Thats not meant to be a cheeky reply by the way its just I assumed that they would be 700c.

    All you should need to change are the tyres, it appears that you have enough clearance for 38mm, so just choose something with a more aggressive tread. Something like a Schwalbe Landcruiser may suffice.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
