South West / Bristol / Bath road events... what coming....

Just negotiating with the wife events that I'd like to do this year.... the biggest issue with me going off to do the events is leaving her with both of our small children and no car! (as we are a single car family now!)
Planning on doing the Bath 100 in April.... but wondered if there are any other events that are pretty local - and just a shortish cycle ride away? I guess I'd be happy to travel up to 20 miles from Bristol?
I would also be up for traveling a bit further... as I can leave the wife car-less... but the more times I don't.... the more events I get to ride!
Looking for 100km or 100mile events I would guess, but wouldn't mind having a go at some TT's if they are going. I guess TT's would be perfect as I get a nice little warm up before the race.
Thanks in advance. A bit new to road biking as I've always ventured off-road, so don't really know the local events.... so looking for help. Not looking for many... just a few to squeeze in-between the MTB events (which mostly tend to be a car drive away)

Did this one last year and will likely do it again this time round. Sounds to be right on your doorstep.0 -
LVIS Audax?
I'll be doing the 112k. Missed it last year but it was apparently a really chilled, fun event. Only 6 quid to enter as well.Alex0 -

Here's a couple not too far away from Bristol:

http://www.sportivescene.co.uk/the-grea ... tive-2011/ - you could probably get to this by train.
Might be worth posting up on some of the Bristol bike club websites for lifts.0 -
Check out audax rides starting in Chepstow too - nice warm up riding to the start. I highly recommend the Gospel pass ride. Or if you fancy something a bit more hardcore, there's the 400k Brevet Cymru or 600k Bryan Chapman Memorial

Thanks. Amazing response. Now have more to choose from than the wife will let me get away with (an event per month is probably all I can get away with!)
Thanks again. Will take a look at the Bristol Cycling groups.Simon0 -

Good call, I've heard the Gospel Pass Audax is good, been over the pass a few times with other rides but will try to make it along to this one.0 -
There needs to be a 'Thanks' button on this forum! I am following the repliesSimon0

Not really an Audax/Sportive, but the Great Weston Ride Looks fun.
Here's a rough idea of the route after talking to the organisers.2012 Cannondale Synapse0 -

Ding to that.
Was my first Audax and loved it (although I grovelled for a large part of it) and will be doing it again this year0
