yes and no.
the threaded part of the road Drive side cup is shorter so you would not have as much/enough thread in the frame.
Some road BBs have different threads."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Some Shimano road bbs have different washer spacings and dont fit with non shimano road chainsets. Not entirely certain, but I think truvativ mtb and road chainsets use the same bbs which are the same as shimano mtb, but different to shimano road chainsets.0

so what has Truvativ to do with Hollowtech 2? nothing.
shimano road HT2 BBs do not use spacers."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

My trek road bike with a ultegra ht2 and bb30 bb has spacers on it one either side sandwiched between the shell and the cups and one on the axle between the crank arms and dust cover on either side. It adjusts the chainline to stop over stressing.0

Sorry Niclouse, I only have internet on a phone at the moment so typing messages gets tedious and I dont always get my point across. Some Shimano road bbs have a washer built in to the driveside cup that is against the inside of the chainset as a spacer. Dura-ace have this. These are not compatible with ht2 mtb chainsets. Often, people call GXP bbs HT2 as a generic name so its good to have the info.0
