Evening

Just out of interest:

Brand new Planet X carbon frame to build a sigle speeder: does anyone know if the stadard drop outs make this possible? I remem, ber reading something on here about whether vertical/horizontal drop outs make s/sing an impossibility.

With the price of them at Planet X now its almost a giveaway ........

Vertical dropouts, just use a chain tensioner.

I saw the new Holdsworth, it's got derailleurs but proper dropouts so it can be converted to fixed/single - futureproof! :)

Link through from the Planet-X website to their On-One site and get a tensioner and anything else you fancy at the same time. They do a good range of SS bits for the Pompino.

Chain tensioner is gash IME - do it properly with a White industries ENO Eccentric hub or a Forward Components EBB - both pricey but well made and very durable (I run both on different bikes)
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Or,

you could do this though I would put the ghostring slightly further away from the sprocket if possible!
