My niterider minewt 150 x2 failed on me in the rain on saturday night. I think it is the battery as when I plug it in to be charged the light doesn't come on! I looked on line and the batteries cost £120 so I ended up buying a whole new light set for £99 on ebay! It is great you can get spares but when they cost MORE than the whole set what is the point!!?? Any body else experienced a failed li ion type battey set up? Mine was about 18 months old and had done ALOT of wet and snowy night rides and commutes! Is this the kind of life I should expect from one?

Mine failed 13 months after purchase with a lot of the conditions that you mention but it does come with a 2yr warranty.

Evans replace the unit completely with a Min Newt 200; takes it away happy, charges the battery twice and then the battery fails.

Takes it back in and they replace it again; 6 weeks on, so far so good.

Good luck with your new unit. . . I bought a recon replacement minewt x2 from edinborough cycles on line and so can see where I am going again now. But I have lost a bit of confidence. They are great lights, but I will always take an emergency light out now. I am going back to evans this weekend to see what they can do.
