Hi all
I have allways had a ceramp problem with miy calf muscles ( particuarly the right one!?)
I think this is down to nerve damage born of a previous back problem.
However it only happens from time to time, I went out on Sat and done a 30mile ride and had to stop to stretch half way round, went out yesterday on a 40mile ride, no problems but bluddfy hell my leg hurts today, I can hardly walk
I suspect I have overdone the riding bit, but is there any tips for stretching out the knots in muscles.( it is even tender to touch)
Many Thanks

Calf muscle cramps are a classic sign of dehydration, in particular electrolytes. Are you using a sports energy drink during or after your ride.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Stretching, hydration and salt levels have all been noted to affect cramps.
Have a quick google on calf stretches make sure your are doing them correctly and if there are some stretches that you don't know off.
Pop and electrolyte tablet in your drink while cycling and make sure you are taking on enough water. After the exercise try to keep drinking for a little while afterwards.
Maybe go to a bike fit place and check your position and pedalling style is OK. You might be doing something weird and putting it under strain?0
