Start of week 3 of earlies for me and I'm starting to feel it, looking forward to a lie in on Wednesday though

Yesterday ended up being fun as an assault and 3 kids walking down the track meant I was delayed, and got to book an extra 2 hours overtime

lets see what today holds

  • Morning all!

Woke up, got the mrs off to work, came home and passed out again. Had some strange dream as well. Not sure what it meant.

    Hope everyone has a goodun

Should be trying the train this week to see how viable it is..... not until i've not got enough fuel to get to work in the car though

Got plenty of work to get on with so i'll be plugging my ears with music all day I think!

Two more days before handing in latest assignment, which happens to be spread over two busy work days - got a feeling I am going to be knackered by Wednesday.

    well morning.

So far one of my less than intelligent sub minions has managed to set the fire alarm off around 40 times in 10 minutes. Don't people realise if there's an isolate switch for a reason?

Another quiet week again so I may well book the Thursday off again.

    Good Morning Freaks!

Today has already been overdosed with fail. Got up, got dressed to ride to work, go to get the Focus out of the shed and the rear tyre’s flat AGAIN!

It’s cursed it tell you, CURSED! Yesterday it was fitted with new tubes and tyres. It’s not been ridden, just pushed into the shed.

I’d also failed to get the XTC to where I could ride it to work – gears need adjusting and the forks need bleeding again (can’t seem to get all the air bubbles out…), otherwise I’d have taken that bike. The plan is to use this as my backup/spare commuter bike during the winter (then use the TT bike in this role for the summer).

So, I had to take the train. Not that I’ve got anything against taking the train, I find it quite relaxing, I’d have rather ridden in though.

And I’ve woken up with a soar throat, which normally heralds the start of a cold.

Got a few meetings this morning and hopefully meeting up with my ex-minions for lunch. I’ll be looking to slope off early this afternoon so I can get home and make at least one of my bikes rideable.

Today, there shall be much thinking, arguing and use of very large white boards. This shall continue all week.

I went to the gym yesterday. First time in about a month I have been able to take a full breath. I think most of the green slime has been coughed out. Stupid getting ill. Still, getting back to normal!

Was on the tram on the way into the office this morning. Sat next to a slim woman, so all is good. She got off and a laaaaaaaaaaaaaarge woman carrying coats, bags, folders and probably a small domesticated moose tried to fill her seat. She filled it. Oh yes. I was squashed by the periphery of her buttocks too. Not quite as pleasent as some may think. <shudders>

Conti tubes? I had 6 out of the 10 in the last box with faulty presta valves.

Yes. Tyres as well - replaced with Hardshells as there seemed to be very little, if any puncture protection with the Gatorskins. Not happy with Conti at the moment...

I've got some <tries to remember> Botranger summat or others on there and I've never gotten a puncture with them. The have a flat strip of a different colour rubber all the way round the centre.

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a good one.

Lots of toast this morning - after three days on the Chase, my brakes are toast, my tyres are toast, a mech, pedal and brake lever are toast and I am toast as well.

Good job I like toast :)

Hmm, I've got a pair of those sat on my roadie bike, might have to rob them for the Focus if the Hardskins don't work out. TBF, I've been a huge advocate of the Gatorskins and the set I've removed were probably my 4th or 5th set. Previously I'd only ever got one puncture, however the current one on the rear has probably had 7 or 8 punctures in the past couple of months.
  • A Monday full of Meh!
I seriously hate Monday traffic and today along thr M6 the matrix sign said "Queue Ahead Slow 40MPH" everyone slowed to 40, nothing all all to see, then the very next matrix sign said "End" WTF?!?
I reckon someone at the traffic control is having a laugh

Anyway lots of appointments in the South East over the next fortnight, I may be bunking in Basingstoke wich means if I lug a bike with I can tackle Reading Copse or Swinley Forest.

Other than that I am staring at anithing that tells the time and willing them on as I just want to go home
  • Afternoon all,

So there I was on the way to work this morning, noticed the front brake had a bit of a “pulse” to it so figured I must’ve dinked the rim or something, thought to myself that I must have a look at that when I get to work. Then, going down a hill, BOOM. Rim sidewall fails and nice loud bang follows. Pulled over to find about a foot of the rim sidewall cracked away and flapping about. Apparently it scared the bajesus out of a woman I was riding past at the time. So that’s me stuck half way between work and home with no front wheel, bad times. Father in law had to come and get me and take me home so am now at work with the car (which the handbrake cable half snapped on last week with MOT due, more bad times). Note to self, keep a closer eye on rims from now on.

Got tomorrow off for an interview in the morning, so the afternoon will be spent fixing the bike as well as the car.

About to pop down to Sainsbury’s to get lunch and biscuits, this should hopefully restore the zen balance of my day.

    Is it 5 yet?

  • Sitting in house waiting for new bike to arrive. Bored and smelly, but if I go for a shower the bike will arrive just as I'm all naked and covered in soap.

To tempt fate and have the shower or to remain dirty, tis a problem.

Today, I didn't bother getting out of bed until 9:30, and still got to uni for 9:50, which gave me time to buy bacon before my first lecture. I attribute this to riding there on my Carrera rather than my Vitamin. Bigger tyres + suspension = Riding down steps instead of going around them. :D
