Chain Slipping problem

I've recently built up a new bike and been out on it today and I'm getting a chain slip problem every time I pedal hard! As in the chain slips on the cog its on, not slips from one gear to another.
I'm running a SRAM X0 Rear mech (medium cage) with X9 shifters, PG970 cassette, FSA Moto XC 3 ring chainset and a SRAM 951 chain.
I was running the same set up on my old frame (GT Avalanche expert) but with an X9 rear mech, also medium cage and never had any problems.
The chain is new and I did the usual method for measuring it and removing the links. I have indexed the gears no problem and when the bikes upside down the gears change fine!
I'm guessing its something to do with my chain length being either too long or too short. I haven't measured it against the old one yet but not sure how much that will help anyway as I've now got an On-One 456 and I'm guessing the chainstay length will be different?
Any help would be much appreciated,
Cheers, J.

I love the sound my tyres make on dusty single track!
