Hi
A freind has been having a few troubles ,so i decided to have a look .He was telling me that he was stuck on the largest ring on the crank,so got a new cable took the old cable out and replaced with new .Tried to change from the largest ring down ,nothing happened if i move the front derailler by hand it does not spring back ,allso there is no movement on the shifter just really slack .hope this makes sense cheers neil

so without a cable attached the mech will not move?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Hi Nick
,it will only move forward by hand but when i release it it stays in the same position,so i have to push it back ,0 -
also when i replaced the cable ,after i had set up the front mech ,it looks like the cable has some how jammened itself in the shifter and know matter what i can not take the cable back out0

Not sure about the mech - something jammed in it?
Have you made sure the shifter is in the lowest 'gear' when you try and remove the cable?I don't do smileys.

so the mech needs to be moved both ways with out any cable attached?
when pulling on the cable the shifter will not pull or give wire?
if yes both. new every thing is needed."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
