I have a 2011 Specialized Epic Comp. It has tubeless ready rims and 2bliss tyres. I cant find anywhere if it comes with tubeless rimtapes? I have looked everywhere on spec sheets (even at the bikeshop where I work) but cant find out anything. Does anyone know?

Chances are if it comes running tubeless as standard then it will have rim tapes fitted.

It has tubeless rims and tyres, but has tubes fitted. Specialized list a rim tape separately that is specifically tubeless compatible.
  • Was wondering this question the other day with My Stumpjumper Comp 2010, mine came with yellow rim tape (which I think I have read is tubeless) and spare tubeless valves. I am presuming this is what you got mattv with your Epic ?

I think the tubeless tape from spesh is blue. Well it was on my HT stumpy.

It was a little to get the tyre to seat.

Get at proper tubless valve so you can take the inner out. Makes It a lot easier.

Mine is yellow I think, and have seen a picture of the aftermarket tubeless which is blue. But its only a colour... Might be worth asking next week if we call them up.

I would say that - if its smooth and thin then it's tubeless
    - if it's rough and quite sturdy then it's not.
