Garmin Training Centre - time/date problem

Just got myself a 705 and I've uploaded my last ride to the Training Centre, but it's telling me that the date I went on the ride was 01/01/1990 at 02:00:00 (2am)! The unit itself is set for automatic time and date updates and is displaying the right time and date. I can't seem to change the time or date in the Training Centre.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might be happening?

On my Forerunner 305 I get time and date problems if I switch it on in a place it doesn't have a chance to get full satellite lock. Try taking outside with a good wide view of the sky and THEN switch it on before riding - that should sort it.

I suspect that when you set off you didn't have full satellite lock which is why a the start of the ride your date and time was wrong but by the end of the ride when you look at your unit the time and date is displayed.

One tip I read was to switch the unit on for a few minutes before each ride. This gives it time to find the satellite signals and also time for the altitude meter to settle down.

We've all learned the hard way is my guess.

I made the same schoolboy error when mine came back from Garmin. Charged it up and personalised the settings but couldn't change the clock. Much googling didn't really help so I took it for a walk which set the date and time.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
