Got a brand new Felt F75 road bike been training on this bike, also got scott mountain bike for fun offroad rides.
The dilemia is which bike to use to commute the 20 mile a day in?
If I use mountain bike I would be in different riding position.

What would you do?

If you're commuting on the road, use the road bike.

this time of year, for a 20 mile commute, you might want to use mudguards of some description.

If you want to do your commute in a reasonable time then road bike. If some of the commute is off road then mountain bike.

You won't get any votes for mountain bike with an all road commute, specially on a road bike forum! :)

Sell them both and buy a decent cyclo cross bike - best of both worlds.

    Pat...

+1 for road bike. (20 miles on the road? Seems a no brainer.) Or you could try both and see which you prefer...

You clearly need a new bike! Start browsing! I'm keen on hub gears for something that'll get covered in salt and road grime. I have an Edinburgh Bike Coop Courier Nexus for the winter, it's heavy but is very good value for money.

Depends what you're trying to achieve. I use both but I'm directed by the weather. Icy weather(a lot up here - especially because of the peak elevation) it's the MTB with spikey tyres. The rest of the time it's the road bike.

The roadie is faster and MUCH easier - but doesn't burn anything like the calories. It's also prone to more punctures and you don't get the same satisfaction from scalping someone.

My advice - mix it up.
