Evenin all,
Want to get my PC hooked up to my TV in order to stream videos and watch my MTB movies in HD, and just general amazing browsing. I've got a VGA port going out of my pc, but no s video or DVI or anything. I've only got composite and HDMI inputs on the t.v.
Is there any possible solution to my problem? I've seen a few VGA to HDMI cables, but have heard that they don't actually work because VGA is analog, and HDMI is digital. Is that just a mthy?

Regardless of the cabling issues you might have you will have to enable the display. It might be a wise investment in a seperat graphics card with the right connections. My mobo has HDMI output though I ordered the model below but the PC shop got it wrong
Start --> Control Panel --> Settings and play with the drop downbox settings to enable the display to be cloned on both displays. You might need a restart after connecting the TV to PC for the 2 displays to show in the drop down menu. Several options are available in the menu, clone, stretch and maybe a few more.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
Get a graphics card with DVI / HDMI. Computers are digital, HDMI is digital so anything analogue (VGA) inbetween is going to degrade the signal
Don't know what kind of TV you've got but I don't like using a TV for tasks I'd normally do on the computer (browsing).
TVs are great for moving images, much less good for static things like text. I'd love a big LCD TV to test my theory on though!0 -

I don't mind if the quality is not amazing, as it will be just for general puttering about on the internet, and maybe some large screen webmastering and excel work.
Thanks for the link nick, got one on the way now!0
