Sorry for creating two threads to quick! I've recieved some helicpter tape today which I ordered from eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110624708941&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Only thing is, when applying it, to handle bar areas (where lights etc go) and around the downtube, and also (can't remember name) where the fork steerer tube goes through front of the frame, it just peels off. I've tried using a hair dryer to warm it up, and the frame is nice and clean too, with no oil or grease anywhere. The ends just won't stay down. Any ideas?

    Use an alcohol wipe first.
  • Why hadn't I thought of that  Is it still a bit of a bugger to apply though? Also, is the hair dryer tip work doing just to warm up the glue and tape a little bit?

Get a bowl of water with a tiny amount of fairy liquid in. Peel back the plastic and submerge in the water, wipe of the excess and apply to the bike. Once in position, use a credit card to push out bubbles, then use a hair dryer or leave to drive naturally.

  • the headtube is what you're on about.

The heat from the hairdryer makes teh tape more supple and easier to apply.

clean frame......cut tape to size.......warm tape up with hairdryer....DO NOT REMOVE ALL THE BACKING PAPER...start at one end and peal backing paper off slow as you are wiping on clear part of tape....all ways worked for me..
If its still not sticking then you have got bad tape or frame / parts are not 100% clean or dry.

i used http://www.screwfix.com/prods/16463/Cle ... aner-400ml to clean parts and frame spay on to a cloth wipe parts/frame and dry with kitchin towel.

I don't know your model but anodised frames often won't take stickers, any chance it's that?
