stinger problem

iv decided to change my xt hollowtech2 chainset to a double with bashring config. I also decided to add a stinger chainguide. Iv fitted it this afternoon as per the instructions but im not completely happy with the result. I have the 68mm bb arrangement with 2 spacers on the drive side and one on the other. The instructions say to remove one drive side spacer and leave one spacer between the frame and the stinger. This set up leaves the chain rubbing against the plate when in the granny ring and the plastic wheel puts a slight kink in the chain when in the middle ring. It almost looks like the bb spacer ought to sit on the outside of the stinger rather than the inside but i have a feeling this may move things too far the other way? Anyone experience a similar problem with shemano chainsets?

I ignored the instructions and did frame-stinger-spacer instead of frame-spacer-stinger and it worked fine with my Race Face Ride XC crankset, didn't look right before I even put the crank on when I did it how Blackspire suggested0

Yup, do you're own thing with the spacers, I couldn't even turn the cranks without a spacer between the cranks and the stinger.0

cheers guys, I got my stinger on Tuesday, and after a couple of attempts the only way it lined up was frame - stinger - spacer, was getting concerned as whether this would work but you've just put my fears to rest, now can't wait to give it a try this weekend.
