New helmet?

I had my first spill of the year this morning on black ice, although my shoulder took most of the impact my helmet also tasted tarmac! The outer plastic cover has deepish scratches, should it be replaced, bearing in mind i,ve had it for five years?

    5 years old is enough reason to replace I think, let alone that they are designed to be used once then replaced.

    Yep, would take the opportunity to replace now. 5 years is quite a good stint for a helmet, even without your recent spill. If I may take this opportunity to recommend the Lazer Genesis, great helmet if you like the non bowling ball look! IMO.
