This week's litany of cycling pain:

Monday: 1 buggered headset (Focus)
Tuesday: Sold wrong size track nuts.
Wednesday: 2 punctures on one commute (Pinarello)
Thursday: 2 near death experiences with one 'Greyhound Coach.' Terrifying.
Friday: 1 buggered Bottom bracket (Kinesis)

Not amused.

....friend apparently committed suicide early in the week :( , only found out today
  • Attended a funeral on Wednesday of a 24 year old friend who finally lost her 5 year battle with cancer. She only got married last August.

We 'celebrated' her life how she wanted to, she made most of the funeral arrangements and we all wore a pink piece of clothing.

Not a good week for many. :(

Sorry to hear that ITB, gbsahne, essex-commuter and NGale.

    And enough accidents too.
  • no personal sadness for myself. just cycling woes for my wife's bike.

needed new wheel, plus had a slow puncture every day with out fail which ment I had to pick her and her bike up from her work.

finally gave up, when i was almost out of inner tubes and well out of patience. took it to the bike shop who picked more glass out of the tyre but after a fair while found tiny bit that the wire was just showing so a new tyre...

I'm just glad I had specified my bike on the household insurance, which includes accidental damage.

+1 unfortunately. Found out on Tuesday he'd hanged himself the week before. Actually I only got to know him from my years of doing the school run. His eldest (10) is in my boy's class. He also has a 5 year old daughter. Angry doesn't even come close....
    Still breathing.....

Not as bad a week as some but still not the best for me. Today has made up for some of it, spent some time doing some boat maintence with Jake which is always fun, even if it's just me laughing at him totally taking over. Puts a smile on my face
