I have both a front mounted LED (bspoke) and a helmet mounted LED
When i set off both are very bright but I have found that both dim considerably in the cold.
Is this the bulbs or the batteries?

I've heard that batteries start to lose power in extreme cold but never noticed it myself....Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Definitely the batteries. Might be worth changing them to Lithium AA batteries if the dimming is a real problem? I've used some standard rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries in the cold before that literally just wouldn't work - a fully charged warm battery would act as if it's dead in -5 conditions. Lithium disposable batteries don't really suffer with this at all.FCN 2 to 80

Best bet is NiMH batteries. Alkalines dim continually through discharge in LED lights. Lithium get a bit pricy. I suggest 2900mah AA's from Vapextech (£5.75 delivered) and their LCD World Charger (£14.55 delivered)0

I have 6 lights all NiMh and never had this though it may be that you need "better" batteries, go fo a GOOD make, I only use Encore, have had many good makes over the years, these are superb, expensive but.....
