This thing has been dropping in price in my local gumtree...

It's old, it's cheap, it lacks information and it's just possible it's nicked. So before I invest any thought into it at all, does anyone know more about these? I've absolutely no need for a stinky but it might be fun.

    Nicked

They do the job, probably more an all mountain in geo nowadays. Fun, but heavy. Would I? No.

those early ones look very similar to my coiler, same 6'' travel, just a bit slacker at the front and with triple clamps on.

i wont be much fun pedaling up stuff, but will be fun hammering down stuff.
  • my brother had the '04 stinky... and the '06..... and the '08

They are very good going DH, but as mentioned heavy. VEEEEEERY heavy.

I think the '04's were prone to cracking on the top tube too so make sure you give it a good look over.

Thats a very good buy!.... My mates just bought the same bike in similar condition for £470!

Very capable freeride bike! Bits are still available for them too!

I know someone with an old Stinky and the back end really doesn't feel like it's connected, it's so flexy. And the Geo is horrible and, as said, it's sooooooo heavy. I wouldn't ride one if it was given to me

Just stick with your Hemlock and if you want something to fcuk about on, get a cheap DJ bike like a Commencal Max Max

I'm also kind of wondering what it'd be worth in bits ie if I turn up and wave 5 £50 notes at him then walk off when he asks for more  I've been watching gumtree for a cheap bmx but this thing's been orbiting...

Probably better not eh  Cheers folks!

  • I had an 02' Stinky Primo. I sold it this past summer in order to buy a road bike for
commuting on. I felt kinda sad about selling it, like a member of your own family ( is it crazy to think like that?) I considered the bike fit for freeriding or as I mostly used it,
very heavy duty XC. It was built like a brick outhouse.
